Q: What is the difference between the Magnum® High Pro, Low Pro, and Standard Headache Racks?
A: The Low Pro sits approximately level with the top of the cab, while the Standard and High Pro sit approximately 3″ above the cab, revealing the third brake light and the gooseneck/bed camera (for those selected trucks that offer this option).
The Low Pro and High Pro both have lights. (The Low Pro needs to have lights because it covers the third brake light.) The Standard rack does not come with lights.
Q: When I install my lighted rack, I’m seeing a “trailer connected” icon. What should I do?
A: If you have a 2024 GM Medium Duty model or 2023/24 Ford Super Duty model, you may need to get a replacement wiring harness. Due to the chip shortage, there were product modifications. We are happy to send you a replacement wiring harness. Fill out this form, and customer service will ensure that your replacement wiring harness is sent out at no charge.
Q: Does a modular wire harness come with my rack?
A: Yes. A modular wire harness comes standard with the purchase of all lighted Magnum racks. It’s plug and play, requires no wiring ability and is an easy, accurate, fast install.
Q: Are the stake pocket tie-downs included?
A: Yes. Each truck headache rack comes with two stake pocket tie-downs, as well as a truck-specific wire harness (when applicable).
Q: Can I paint my truck rack?
A: If you want to paint your rack, select the mill finish (bare aluminum) option under Finish Options when you place your order.
Q: What is your normal lead time for shipping?
A: Our standard shipping is 3-7 days, depending upon the time of year. If you have an urgent need, call the office to discuss expediting your order. We do our best to accommodate special requests.
Q: Can I get a colored truck headache rack?
A: At this time, we offer our powder coated standard matte black or satin white finish, as well as a mill finish (bare aluminum), which is paintable.
Q: Is a gloss finish available for headache racks?
A: Not at this time. You would need to order a mill finish aluminum rack and paint it with a gloss paint.
Q: Is a Magnum truck rack compatible with a Tonneau cover?

Q: Does a Magnum® headache rack work with a tool box?
A: Yes, in most cases depending upon the overall width of the tool box. On the Magnum® website, listed under the rack that fits your vehicle, there is a link to view the rack spec image. That shows the overall width of the rack. Your tool box would need to be approximately ½” narrower than this measurement to comfortably fit.

Q: Are Magnum® truck racks made in the USA?

Q: Are your headache rack accessories specific to the truck model?
A: No. Magnum® has the most complete line of headache rack accessories of any manufacturer that we know of. Our accessories are all interchangeable between all racks as they slide along our Glide Track which is the same size on all racks. Learn more about our accessories »
