With that being said, the engine will have a brand new five layer head gasket, a new four layer exhaust manifold gasket, a stronger crankshaft, and last but not least, stronger piston assemblies.

The automatic transmission which is a six speed is assembled with a stronger torque converter. With all of the changes and new things on this truck, it is said to create performance that is quieter than most trucks. Ford says that the upgraded diesel engine creates much more power, more robust and then of course more efficient than any of the trucks before, however they are still patiently waiting for the horsepower and torque figures.
